How not to become a victim when buying property in Turkiye
For some, the acquisition of real estate is a regular cyclical process, for others it is a big event in life. But for both, it is very important that the purchase transaction is clean and legal.
What you need to know in order not to be deceived?
Transfer money directly to the developer's account (no agent, no intermediary, no real estate agency).
Transfer money from your account in a currency other than Turkish Lira.
Read the contract carefully and translate it before signing.
Do not pay in cash, only bank transfer.
Carefully check the documents of the developer, especially everything related to land zoning and building permits.
Make an independent assessment of the property. A big difference between the assessment and the market value should alert you.
You must be aware of your risks when purchasing a property at a “lower” cost in the contract.
Do not delay with the registration of TAPU (title deed) in your name.
When buying in installments, soberly assess your capabilities. The monthly payment in foreign currency is quite high.
To minimize investment risks, as well as the risks associated with the execution of a transaction, contact an experienced broker.
