Real estate sales statistics in Turkiye in August 2024

In Türkiye, house sales increased by 9.9% in August compared to the same month of the previous year and became 134,155. The provinces with the highest number of house sales were İstanbul with 19,467, Ankara with 12,496 and İzmir with 7,044, while the provinces with the lowest number were Hakkari with 53, Ardahan with 93, Bayburt with 116.

In January-August period, house sales increased by 1.1% compared to the same period of the previous year and became 806,317.

In Türkiye, mortgaged house sales decreased by 17.1% in August compared to the same month of the previous year and became 13,574. Mortgaged house sales had 10.1% share of all house sales. In January-August period, mortgaged house sales decreased by 49.8% compared to the same period of the previous year and became 76,485.

3,055 of mortgaged house sales in August and 18,017 of mortgaged house sales in January-August period were first sales.

In Türkiye, other house sales increased by 14.1% in August compared to the same month of the previous year and became 120,581. Other house sales had 89.9% share of all house sales. In January-August period, other house sales increased by 13.2% compared to the same period of the previous year and became 729,832.

In Türkiye, first time house sales increased by 18.7% in August compared to the same month of the previous year and became 41,913. First sales had 31.2% share of all house sales. In January-August period, first time house sales increased by 7.5% compared to the same period of the previous year and became 256,021.

In Türkiye, second hand house sales increased by 6.3% in August compared to the same month of the previous year and became 92,242. Second hand sales had 68.8% share of all house sales. In January-August period, second hand house sales decreased by 1.6% compared to the same period of the previous year and became 550,296.

House sales to foreigners decreased by 26.2% in August compared to the same month of the previous year and became 2,257. House sales to foreigners had 1.7% share of all house sales in August. The provinces with the highest number of house sales to foreigners were İstanbul with 838, Antalya with 696 and Mersin with 174.

In January-August period, house sales to foreigners decreased by 40.0% compared to the same period of the previous year and became 15,068.
