Real estate sales statistics in Turkiye in May 2024

In Türkiye, house sales decreased by 2.4% in May compared to the same month of the previous year and became 110,588. The provinces with the highest number of house sales were Istanbul with 18,814, Ankara with 9,861 and Antalya with 6,306, while the provinces with the lowest number were Bayburt with 37, Ardahan with 46 and Hakkari with 60.

In January-May period, house sales decreased by 3.4% compared to the same period of the previous year and became 465,761.

In Türkiye, mortgaged house sales decreased by 63.9% in May compared to the same month of the previous year and became 9,909. Mortgaged house sales had 9.0% share of all house sales. In January-May period, mortgaged house sales decreased by 58.7% compared to the same period of the previous year and became 44,602.2,316 of mortgaged house sales in May and 10,629 of mortgaged house sales in January-May period were first sales.

In Türkiye, other house sales increased by 17.3% in May compared to the same month of the previous year and became 100,679. Other house sales had 91.0% share of all house sales. In January-May period, other house sales increased by 12.6% compared to the same period of the previous year and became 421,159.

In Türkiye, first time house sales increased by 3.3% in May compared to the same month of the previous year and became 35,558. First sales had 32.2% share of all house sales. In January-May period, first time house sales increased by 1.8% compared to the same period of the previous year and became 147,899.In Türkiye, second hand house sales decreased by 4.9% in May compared to the same month of the previous year and became 75,030. Second hand sales had 67.8% share of all house sales. In January-May period, second hand house sales decreased by 5.6% compared to the same period of the previous year and became 317,862.

House sales to foreigners decreased by 50.3% in April compared to the same month of the previous year and became 1,272. House sales to foreigners had 1.7% share of all house sales in April. The provinces with the highest number of house sales to foreigners were Antalya with 454, Istanbul with 407 and Mersin with 149.

In January-May period, house sales to foreigners decreased by 45.8% compared to the same period of the previous year and became 9,21.
