Real estate sales statistics in Turkiye in November 2023
Housing sales across Turkey decreased by 20.6% in November compared to the same month of the previous year, reaching 93,514. Istanbul had the highest share in housing sales with 15,187 house sales and 16.2%. According to sales numbers, Istanbul was followed by Ankara with 8,250 house sales and 8.8% share, and Izmir with 5,105 house sales and 5.5% share. The provinces with the lowest number of house sales were Hakkari with 52 houses, Ardahan with 57 houses and Gümüşhane with 73 houses.
Housing sales decreased by 14.9% in the January-November period compared to the same period of the previous year, reaching 1,087,349.
Mortgaged house sales across Turkey decreased by 68.5% in November compared to the same month of the previous year, reaching 5,245. The share of mortgage sales in total housing sales was 5.6%. Mortgaged house sales in the January-November period decreased by 33.6% compared to the same period of the previous year, reaching 171,706.
1,390 of mortgage sales in November; 51,624 of the mortgaged sales in the January-November period were first hand sales.
Other housing sales across Turkey decreased by 12.7% in November compared to the same month of the previous year, reaching 88,269. The share of other sales in total housing sales was 94.4%. Other housing sales in the January-November period decreased by 10.2% compared to the same period of the previous year, reaching 915,643.
The number of first-hand house sales across Turkey decreased by 18.5% in November compared to the same month of the previous year, reaching 30,472. The share of first-hand house sales in total house sales was 32.6%. First-hand house sales amounted to 328,299 in the January-November period, with a decrease of 14.1% compared to the same period of the previous year.
Second-hand house sales across Turkey decreased by 21.6% in November compared to the same month of the previous year, reaching 63,42. The share of second-hand house sales in total house sales was 67.4%. Second-hand house sales decreased by 15.2% in the January-November period compared to the same period of the previous year, reaching 759,50.
Housing sales to foreigners decreased by 61.5% in November compared to the same month of the previous year, reaching 2,342. The share of housing sales to foreigners in total housing sales in November was 2.5%. Antalya took the first place in housing sales to foreigners with 790 house sales. Antalya was followed by Istanbul with 710 house sales and Mersin with 316 house sales.
Housing sales to foreigners decreased by 46.1% in the January-November period compared to the same period of the previous year, reaching 32,941.
In November, citizens of the Russian Federation bought 637 houses from Turkey. Citizens of the Russian Federation were followed by citizens of Iran with 234 houses, Ukraine with 128 houses and Kazakhstan citizens with 117 houses, respectively.
